Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2 June 2026 · Last updated: 9 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Karido Private Limited (“Karido Technologies”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information across all of our mobile applications (the “Apps”), websites, and related services (together, the “Services”). It is provided to comply with applicable data-protection laws and with the requirements of the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
1. Introduction & Scope
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy applies to every mobile application we publish on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, as well as our websites and services.
Our apps follow a data-minimisation approach.
Many of our applications do not collect any personal data at all and work without an account. Some of our applications may collect personal data, but only where a specific feature requires it and only to the extent disclosed for that app. The exact data practices for each application are declared in that app’s Google Play Data Safety section and Apple App Privacy details on its store listing. Where an app collects data, it presents its own in-app notice and, where required, requests your consent.
By downloading, installing, or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services.
2. Information We Collect
Several of our applications are designed to function entirely on your device and do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, do not require registration, and do not use tracking or advertising identifiers. For those apps, this section simply does not apply, and their Google Play Data Safety form declares “No data collected”.
The categories below apply only to applications that do collect data, and only to the extent disclosed for that specific app.
a. Information you provide to us. When you create an account, contact support, fill in a form, or use certain features, we may collect:
- Identity & contact data — name, email address, phone number, and (where relevant) postal address.
- Account credentials — username and a securely hashed password.
- Profile & user content — information, files, images, or messages you choose to submit.
- Transaction data — records of purchases or subscriptions (payment card details are processed by our payment providers, not stored by us).
- Support communications — the contents of your messages to us.
b. Information collected automatically. When you use our Apps we may automatically collect:
- Device information — device model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, language, and time zone.
- Log & usage data — features used, screens viewed, in-app actions, crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data.
- Approximate or precise location — only where a feature requires it and only with your permission (see Device Permissions).
- Identifiers — advertising identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID, Apple IDFA) and analytics identifiers, where applicable.
- Cookies & similar technologies — used on our websites and in-app web content (see our Cookie Policy).
c. Information from third parties. We may receive data from analytics, advertising, authentication, or single-sign-on providers (for example, if you sign in with a third-party account) and from our service providers.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as health, biometric, or financial-account data) unless a specific App expressly requires it, discloses it prominently, and obtains your consent.
3. Device Permissions
Our Apps may request access to certain device capabilities. Each permission is requested only when needed, used solely for the stated purpose, and can be granted or revoked at any time in your device settings. Typical permissions include:
- Camera — to capture photos or videos within features that require it.
- Photos / Storage / Media — to let you upload, save, or attach files.
- Location — to provide location-based features (precise or approximate, as required).
- Microphone — for voice input, calls, or recording features.
- Contacts — only if a feature lets you connect with people you choose.
- Notifications — to send you alerts and updates you have opted into.
We do not use permissions to access data unrelated to the disclosed feature. Denying a permission may limit the corresponding functionality but will not otherwise prevent you from using the rest of the App.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- Process transactions and deliver features you request.
- Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
- Personalise content and remember your preferences.
- Monitor usage, analyse trends, and improve performance and stability (including fixing crashes).
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues.
- Send service-related and, where you have opted in, marketing communications.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a similar jurisdiction, we process your personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Services you request.
- Consent — for optional features, precise location, marketing, and certain analytics/advertising. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the Services in a way that is not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.
7. Third-Party Services & SDKs
Our Apps may integrate third-party software development kits (SDKs) and services that process data under their own privacy policies. Depending on the App, these may include:
- Google Play Services / Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, messaging) — Google Privacy Policy
- Apple services (e.g., push notifications, sign-in) — Apple Privacy Policy
- Advertising networks (e.g., Google AdMob) where an App displays ads.
- Cloud hosting, authentication, and customer-support providers.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third parties. Each App’s store listing discloses the SDKs and data types relevant to that specific App.
8. Advertising & Tracking
Some Apps may show advertising or use analytics that rely on identifiers. You control tracking as follows:
- Apple (iOS): apps that track you across other companies' apps and websites request permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT). You can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation in Settings › Google › Ads.
- Where required, we obtain your consent before using non-essential cookies, analytics, or advertising identifiers.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose; for example, account data is kept while your account is active and for a limited period afterwards, and diagnostic logs are kept for a short rolling window.
10. Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure development practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your information and to address vulnerabilities responsibly.
11. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the GDPR and similar laws), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your data (see Account & Data Deletion below).
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Data portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@karido.in. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
12. Account Deletion, Deactivation & Data Removal
This section applies to applications and to our portal where you register an account. It satisfies the Google Play account- and data-deletion requirement. If an app does not require an account or does not collect personal data, there is no account or data to delete.
a. Deactivate your account (temporary). If you are registered on our portal, you can deactivate your account at any time from your account settings. Deactivation suspends your profile and hides your data from active use; you can reactivate by signing in again. Deactivated accounts that remain inactive for an extended period may subsequently be deleted.
b. Delete your account (permanent). You can permanently delete your account and associated personal data using the “Delete Account” option in:
- The app / portal: open Settings → Account → Delete Account (available wherever you can register).
- By email: send a request to admin@karido.in from your registered email address with the subject “Delete My Account”.
Once verified, we permanently delete your account and personal data within 30 days, except for information we are required or permitted by law to retain (for example, transaction or tax records, or data needed for security and fraud-prevention), which is kept only for the minimum necessary period and then securely deleted.
c. Removal by us (policy violations). We reserve the right to suspend, deactivate, or permanently delete a user account, and associated content, if the user violates this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Use, applicable law, or store policies, or engages in fraud, abuse, or activity that harms other users or our Services. Where appropriate and lawful, we will notify the affected user. Accounts removed for violations are subject to the same retention rules described above.
13. Children's Privacy & Families Policy
Most of our Services are general-audience and are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Google Play Families Policy. Where an app is designed for or appeals to children and participates in Google Play’s Designed for Families / Teacher Approved program, that app complies with the Google Play Families Policy and applicable children’s-privacy laws, including COPPA (US) and the GDPR-K (EU). Specifically, such apps:
- Only use SDKs and APIs that are self-certified as compliant for use in child-directed apps.
- Do not serve personalised or interest-based advertising to children, and do not collect Android Advertising ID, IDFA, or other persistent identifiers for advertising from them.
- Limit data collection to what is strictly necessary for the app to function, and never collect precise location from children.
- Obtain verifiable parental consent where required before collecting any personal data from a child.
- Comply with Google Play's Families Ads & Monetisation and content requirements, and Apple's Kids Category rules where applicable.
Each family-oriented app discloses its specific practices in its store listing. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions or wish to review or delete your child’s data, contact us at admin@karido.in.
14. International Data Transfers
We are based in India and may process and store data in India and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by applicable law.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by other means. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
